Why does my dog run dogs wrestling and others get in the middle of it?
I have a 6 year old rottweiler and is very well socialized. Recently at a dog park going on our usual walk and then stand around and chat with friends. Zeke will stay / sit or lie down beside me and see dogs running and chasing others. The dogs will run to him, sniff him, he smells and go. That is, until two dogs start fighting or even wrestling. He then runs toward them and either runs around looking like a wrestling referee, or be in it and helps one of the dogs. Sometimes it helps the dog who collected it, and sometimes helps the aggressor dog. Why is that?
I do not know. My dog does the same in dog parks though. He think your dog park and have to "monitor" all the world there. Cracks me up. While no one is hurt, do not worry about it. He is doing more and I think he feels he has to intervene, that's what I think my lab of 10 years of age / chow think anyway.
