Why doesn’t The Undertaker ever comment on other wrestler’s DVDs?
Okay I know that the Undertaker has absolutely know obligation to comment or be on another wrestler’s DVD, but with all the WWE DVDs I own (Okay, it’s not that many), I have not once seen the Undertaker comment on any of them. Please DON’T give me the whole, “because of his gimmick” thing because if that were true then why are heels commenting out of character on some wrestler’s DVDs? And plus I would hope that the WWE is aware that we all know what’s going on backstage, or else they wouldn’t have DVDs about wrestlers inside and outside the ring and about their personal real life on the DVD. I’m not complaining and like I said of course if he doesn’t want to comment on their DVD, he has no obligation to do so, but just wondering if anyone knows the reason for it.
BQ: Do you think when The Undertaker retires they will finally put out a DVD that not only covers The Undertaker character and matches but also Mark Callaway’s real life and thoughts on the wrestling business?
It is his gimmick. He really takes it seriously and that is why you don’t see him attending Hall of Fame ceremonies, appearing to take any awards (like Shawn Michaels accepted the award for match of the year 2009 but Taker didn’t), etc. He has to preserve his gimmick and he does it to the best extent possible, so much that some kids of the PG era actually think that is how he is in real life. That’s the reason why this gimmick has lasted so long, because he takes it seriously and does it well.
BQ: Look at This is My Yard, it had pretty much a lot of backstage interviews with him including his real thoughts. Also see his out of character interviews on “On The Score” and “Off The Record” on youtube, you’ll have more respect for the guy than anyone else after you see them.
