Mick Foley, the "hardcore legend"
Growing up in East Setauket, New York, the young Mick Foley was a big fan of professional wrestling even hitchhiked to Madison Square Garden in 1983 and witnessed his favorite wrestler Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka battle his arch rival Don Muraco in the confines of a cage steel. Foley is now pointing to the Superfly dip the top of the cage in the prone Muraco as the precise second he decided he wanted to become a professional wrestler.
Mick started training in Pennsylvania, often having to sleep in the back of his car and living on peanut butter and jam, due to limitations financial driving 18 hours each weekend to train while being in college. Mick embraced this difficult situation, however, aware that this was all part of it "paying your dues." He quickly realized that what he lacked in technical skill of wrestling, which more than made up in ability to win and do it right back up.
Mick finally came to WCW in 1989, the wrestling promotion's largest United States behind of the then WWF, but after being placed in ridiculous arguments and office staff say they would never be a success due to the fact that "no looked like a star, "Foley left the company and went to Japan, where he cemented his reputation as a fool – especially after their participation the King of Death Match tournament in Tokyo. The event promoted inhuman coincides with barbed wire, tacks, glass and fire. Foley wrestled three matches that day, with fans Foley witnessing C4 explosives to be flown, while wrapped in barbed wire with pins sticking in the head. On his return to the United States, Foley received the news that the largest wrestling company in the world, the WWF wanted meet him. After a first meeting of Foley finally got his dream job at the company he had seen while growing up. He packed her belongings, gave his car to a young trainee wrestler who knew (a gesture of welcome and given the new money and used Car Credit was not something that an independent wrestler poor could get their hands on everything possible), then moved back home to New York. Mick was popular quickly because of its combination of strong style of fighting realism and sheer madness of some of the falls that was to fall over 20 feet two times in a game (including a fall that kept him out of combat), and have to finish the match with bruised kidneys and a dislocated shoulder.
Despite all their efforts, Mick was resigned to the fact that, since there was like a star, he never gave a chance to be champion. However, in late 1998, The WWF decided to give the title belt for his efforts in recent years. He retired from the ring in 2000 and wrote two autobiographies that shocked the world when they entered the New York Times list of best-selling number one on the day of its release.
His journey through life has been the inspiration for, not only fighters, but the musicians and actors from around the world to follow their dreams – no matter how slim the chances of "what" appears to be, evidenced by the "Foley is God" signs displayed in the wrestling arenas worldwide.
