Interpretation of Dreams and Visions

Interpretation of Dreams and Visions

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter (Proverbs 25:2).

God spoke to men since the beginning of time. Adam walked with God in the beginning and God spoke to him face to face. When Adam walked with God in the garden, he taught about the creation and purpose for the growth and maintenance. It also taught him the names of animals and their relationship with them. God did not speak in parables, because it was given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. It was God's will for him to have all things and who have in abundance. In this they found a great joy and satisfaction, as the flow of divine communion absolute. Adam remained in Christ as their Creator and do his will, he ran with the life force of God, but was fully alive to God always in motion, vibrant and full of the Spirit of God, nothing is missing.

After sin entered into him and into the discord of sin lost his soul eternal life and divine power, because not only was cast out of Eden, but as a branch was cut from the vine, Jesus Christ, your Creator. Because of disobedience to his heart grew deaf, hard of hearing ears and eyes closed for what he saw, but did not see and hear but not understand.

After the fall of man various times and various ways God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets to the children of Adam. For two thousand years God spoke through his Son, whom He appointed heir of all things and through whom He also made the universe (Hebrews 1:1-2).

In the Old Testament prior, the prophets were called seers because Holy Spirit has allowed them to see things in the spirit of the hidden mysteries of all time (frames of past, present and future). Previously kingdom in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, who spoke thus: "Come, let's go to the seer", which is now called a prophet was called a psychic (1 Samuel 9:9).

Although many ancient prophets had dreams and visions do not perceive impressive times that or what it was. They wanted to see and hear things that the heirs of salvation see and hear today, they see and hear but not understand that. The Old Testament saints saw the wonders of God and understand that they themselves, but we are the heirs of salvation serving (1 Peter 1: 10-12). Those things are types and shadows of things heavenly good things to come. God has watched over its wisdom in the sight of them. The wisdom of God reveals that Jesus has become a guarantee of a better covenant.

God's language

Jesus in His ministry, used the symbolic language as taught by the parabolic method. Why God is the veil of truth? All these things Jesus spoke to the crowd in parables and without parables he spoke, to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying: "I will open my mouth in parables, I'm going to utter things hidden since the foundation of the world" (Matthew 13:34-35).

Since the fall of man God hides the truth in parables, dreams and visions that need an interpreter to seal the understanding of this phenomenon in the heart. The first biblical example, when Joseph's brothers Joseph interpreted the dream of the sheaves bowed to his sheaf. Jacob Joseph interpreted the dream on the sun, moon and eleven stars bowed down to him (Joseph). Joseph interpreted the butler, the baker and Pharaoh's dreams. A man plays the dream of his companion in the field of Gideon on barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian. Daniel was the interpreter of dreams and visions of some Kings of Babylon (for example, the vision of King Belshazzar who saw part of a hand that wrote a message on the wall of his palace).

The prophecies of Ezekiel, Daniel and Revelation written by John are expressed in symbolic language. Why God speaks in parables? Why is the message the veil and reveal some others? And the disciples came and said, "Why do you speak in parables?" He answered and said, "Because has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but they are not given (Matthew 13: 10-11).

Interpretation of dreams and visions

In 1988, while my wife was pregnant with our son, Oleg, my mother-in-law had a dream about her, pushing a red stroller with a baby in it. She plays sleep, and stated that she has a daughter. She thinks the blue color represents a child and the red color represents a girl. This is a traditional believe in Ukraine. My wife thinks his dream and its interpretation. Only after that my wife had a dream direct (no interpretation) that she will have a child born with hair black. Although our son was born today is blond with black hair as she had seen in his dream. God gave this dream in response to a dream which was interpreted incorrectly. Sometimes God gives revelation through dreams that require no interpretation.

However, most of the dreams and visions are veiled in symbolism and require interpretation. Then he said, Hear now my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord, that I known unto him in a vision, I speak in a dream. Not so with my servant Moses, He is faithful in all mine house. I talk to him face to face, and clearly, not in these dark … (Numbers 12:6-8a, emphasis added).

We found the first story of dream interpretation of the Bible in Genesis 37:8, where Brother Joseph to interpret his dream of the sheaves bowed to his. Jacob probably taught how to interpret dreams he must have learned from his grandfather Abraham and his father Isaac. In the accounts of Joseph and Daniel were found outside the magicians themselves interpreters of dreams. So dream interpretation was practiced since ancient times.

Historical background of dreams in modern times

Artemidorus of Daldus (138-180 AD), a Roman philosopher, studied symbols in dreams. Dream interpreters interviewed through Italy, Greece and the Near East, noting that dreams rarely could be taken at face value. In his book "Interpretation of Dreams", set forth principles for the interpretation of the basic types of symbols and images that appear in dreams. His work was announced in many ways, the work of Freud and Jung, eighteen hundred years later, and provides an important link between ancient and modern methods of interpreting dreams.

Theologian Christian Gregory of Nyassa (331-395 AD), published a treatise entitled "On the Formation of Man, where he said that dreams occur in sleep because the rational intellect is at rest. Because the intellect is at rest, the dream of the mind can work through the day's activities.

In the thirteenth century, the Roman Catholic Church declared that the future was only in the hands of God and that dreams could be prophetic, or communicating divine revelation. People, who claimed that their dreams were inspired by God, were condemned as blasphemous. Joan of Arc, a dreamer whose vision changed the course of French history, were burned at the stake in 1431 as a witch heretical, in part because the Church denied that their dreams and visions could be divinely inspired.

However, never interested in dream interpretation actually declined. With the advent of printing in the Renaissance, the book was printed in 1518 Artemidorus, and went through twenty editions in the next 200 years. Despite this popular interest, ascetic Protestants did not believe his dreams. However, the great reformer Martin Luther taught his followers that dreams reveal their sinful nature.

The German Romantic movement of the eighteenth century later developed several theories about dreaming. The German physicist, GC Lichtenberg (1742-1799) was the first scholar to link the dream with the unconscious. A final nineteenth century, dreams were recognized as products of the unconscious and connected to the source of creative and imaginative ideas.

In England, Henry Maudsley was well known as a doctor of "nervous disorders." The counts "Dreams are sometimes to go before a serious illness." However, despite his observations, none of his colleagues seemed interested in the possible existence of the power of dreams.

Freud and Jung

Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), founder of psychoanalysis, began the first comprehensive scientific study of dreams in the 1890's. The result of these efforts was the publication of his book, "The Interpretation of Dreams" (1900), which describes a method for the interpretation of dreams.

Freud difference between the hidden meaning and the real content. He did it to try to reconstruct the reasoning of the dreams of the dreamer's waking associations. According to Freud, thoughts that are characteristic of our early childhood strongly influence our dreams. In his view, the mysterious and absurd qualities of dreams are directly to the need to hide desires, our conscious mind does not recognize. Freud said that dreams have two main functions: first, to try comply with our content, the subconscious desires that are primarily sexual and aggressive in nature and secondly, to protect sleep. Freud believed that the content of dreams is in our memory, but the stimulus of a dream is always an unconscious desire that has its origins in childhood.

Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1962) began his research as well as Freud, and later developed his own theories. Analyzed the dreams of their patients to explore the regions inaccessible to the subconscious mind. He also believes that dreams are largely symbolic. While Freud's theory of wish-fulfillment is to explain biological function of sleep, Jung's theory also suggested a psychological function of dreams. His view was that the function of dreams is to offset the personal aspects of the dreamer neglected in his conscious life. This view does not differ substantially from the Freudian theory of conducting desires. For Jung, dreams attempt to conceal rather than reveal what is in the subconscious mind. He used the mythology, comparative religion, and history in the interpretation of symbols in dreams.

Following the early work of Freud and Jung, a continued interest in dreams existed. Many attempts have been made to find a systematic method to interpret the symbols in dreams and give a coherent meaning and explanation of these symbols. However, both

Freud and Jung concluded that the meaning of sleep varies from person to person, depending on the perception proper to the person of the symbol. Suggested to assign a consistent meaning to the symbols in dreams is impossible. For example, a lion could symbolize power and authority to a person, but the destruction and danger to another. They concluded that the meaning of a dream depends on the individual's perception of that symbol.

We consider that in their research, Freud and Jung did not differentiate between dreams of non-believers and those born to win, believers full of spirit. We worked primarily with people full of problems that were unrelated to God.

They spent some time together, discussing their theories and interpretation of the dreams of others. Each rejected the other interpretation of dreams. Jung thought every human being is deeply rooted and connected with the history of mankind. Coined the term, sub-conscience of society, while Freud's theory was centered personality. A growing conflict more developed between Freud and Jung and the final rupture between them was on his way to the United States in 1912. During this period of Jung reflected on the validity of the theory Freud and how this theory could be linked to human history, Jung had a dream.

He dreamed he was in an unknown two-storey house, but he knew it was his home. Found on the top floor in a kind of salon, decorated with fine antique furniture in the Rococo style with many old paintings hanging on the walls. I was quite pleased with the look of your home and wanted to find out what the floor looked. Down the stairs, reached the ground floor, where all was much older, dating from the fifteenth or sixteenth century. The furniture was medieval. The mosaic floor was red brick, and it was quite dark. Then came a heavy door discovered a stone stairway leading to the basement. There he found himself in a vaulted room seemed old. The walls date to Roman times. On the ground discovered a gold ring. With it lifted a stone slab and saw another staircase leading down. Followed him and entered a low cave in the rock. coarse powder, the scattered bones, broken pottery and two human skulls lay on the ground. The skulls were partially disintegrated. Then he awoke.

Jung called Freud to interpret his dream, which Freud made according to his theory of wish-fulfillment. Before proceeding with the interpretation, Freud, Jung was asked what two people did not like most. Jung mentions his mother in law and women. Freud said the two skulls represented Jung's wife and her mother, because he was convinced that Jung would like to see both dead. This was not true at all. Jung liked them so much, but had deliberately misled Freud to test their skills interpretation. Freud misunderstanding caused the final rupture between the two.

Jung's dream interpretation was that the house represents a type mental image – where the living room with a place inhabited symbolizes the consciousness, while the ground floor is the first level of the unconscious. The more you go down darker in the house became the scene. The lower cave was filled with the remnants of early civilization, which Jung interprets as the world of primitive man in each of us. He said that the psyche of primitive man the borders of the life of the animal soul, like animals inhabited the caves, before humans began to live in them.

However, Jung did not follow the basic biblical principal that a dream comes as a response to the questions a person before falling weighted asleep. For example, King Nebuchadnezzar was concerned about the future of his kingdom after his death (Daniel 2:29). In the dream, God gave the answer to your question and showed him what the future would bring. Daniel Nebuchadnezzar knew both the question that had been at the heart of the king, and interpretation.

Because Jung thought on Freud's theory and how it might be linked to human history, God gave the answer. I'll give the interpretation. The house in your dream symbolizes human history. Important historical periods were associated with different levels of the house. The early history was associated with the lower part of the house and up plants represents the most recent history.

In the cave, Jung found two human skulls. We can relate to Adam and Eve as the entire cave floor was covered coarse powder. Adam and Eve chose to exalt the knowledge beyond the fear of God and ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. As a punishment from God cursed them, saying I would die and return to the dust from which he took them.

The basement of the house stood in the Roman style. This was a critical period where knowledge, argumentative skills and education became very important powers governing humanity, and truth violated. The ground floor represents the final days of the Age Media and the second floor of the rococo which led to the Age of Enlightenment and humanism. We note that Jung was impressed by the fine appearance of the furniture and pictures beautiful, all produced by the human mind. His dream of Freud showed that it was actually a successor to all those who had been looking for the tree knowledge, value the power of yourself on the fear of the Lord.

The house is a symbol of human achievement over the centuries, but based on death dust and dead bones. All things Jung saw in the house are dead works, no real life value (all antique) merely to deceive the proud. The fact that Jung saw his own house shows that Jung was deeply influenced by the mentality of his ancestors, dating from the beginning of humanity. He was not, as you might think free and independent in their thinking. Several times in the history of humanity, sin itself has been repeated, that is, not to seek the tree of life is to know the Lord in all your ways and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Many people today are the following directors Freud and Jung and guidelines for the interpretation of dreams. Is surprising to learn that even the spiritual leaders based on their understanding of the dreams of Freud and Jung's ideas. Most of these authors work with freight customers problems that were unrelated to God.

The ancient Russian pagan. Currently, there are many books on dream interpretation in countries of the former USSR, which are based on pagan religious belief and superstition.

The only real way to the dream and vision interpretation

Scripture must interpret dreams and visions, not theories or superstitious believes. The Word and Holy Spirit are one and never contradict each other. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures [Word] or the power of God the Holy Spirit [] (Matthew 22:29).

If one does not study the language of symbol and type of the Bible part of their greatness is missing and the dreams and visions can not be interpreters. is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter (Proverbs 25:2).

The Bible indicates that an object can obtain a meaning especially its inherent characteristics. So the animals, birds, fish and even objects, other than those mentioned in Scripture can be interpreted by its nature, habits and customs.

Scriptures to support the above statement are as follows: But ask now the beasts, and they will teach, and birds heaven, and they will tell you, or speak to the earth, and teach you and the fish of the sea, explain (Job 12:7-8). We can use the following example to above explain the Scriptures. The hyena has very powerful jaws. It is a treasure, but also attack and kill their prey lives. It neutralizes the remains of other predators, with little effort and become very aggressive when other animals want a piece of prey. A hyena speaks of a person who takes advantage of others.

The heavens the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork. until the day they pour forth speech day, and night unto night reveals knowledge. No language, no words, his voice is not heard (Psalm 19:1-3).

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:20). Paul told us that the natural thing was first and then the spiritual. However, the spiritual is not first, but natural, then the spiritual (1 Corinthians 15:46).

The interpretation of dreams and visions included in the gift of interpretation of tongues (dark) these, and is a gift of the Holy Spirit. A spirit of these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams (Daniel 1:17, emphasis added).

Steps to interpret dreams and visions

First, one must be aware that the interpretation of dreams and visions is a gift from God. Sometimes Holy Spirit reveals the meaning immediately, but sometimes takes longer. They can spend hours, days or weeks or even longer to receive the interpretation. So Daniel came in and asked the king to give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation (Daniel 2:16).

Second, the symbolology and typology of the Bible should be studied in detail, knowing that the Bible is written in the language of signs, symbols and types. Jesus taught in parables, therefore using a symbolic language;. I will open my mouth in parables utter dark sayings of old (Psalm 78:2).

Solomon said to impart wisdom to the saints you must understand proverbs and their interpretation. A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding achieve wise counsel, to understand a proverb and an enigma, the words of the wise and their riddles (Proverbs 1:5-6).

We must pay attention to fine details in a dream, such as color, direction, symbolic action, numbers and shapes. To correctly and fully interpret dreams must take care of all details contained in the dream or vision.

God created the color spectrum, with its seven colors in a specific order. Colors are purple, indigo, blue, yellow, green, orange and red. Red has the longest wavelength shorter and purple. The first three colors refer to the demonstration the Spirit. In the tabernacle of Moses, blue, red and purple were used (Exodus 39:1). The red or scarlet color refers to the blood needed for reference of sins.

The green color in the center and therefore represents the soul, which includes the mind, emotions and will. For example, I had a vision of a green coffin, while praying for someone. It was learned that this woman feared he might die from breast cancer at an early age, as is the case with her mother and grandmother. I assured The source of concern originated in his own mind (green coffin.) It is now two decades later and has two beautiful children and she is as healthy as it does 20.

The last three colors, yellow, orange and red are associated with the works of the flesh. This does not mean that these colors have only a negative meaning.

All details are important, such as direction of movement or field of vision. These details give us an indication of whether it is a positive message or negative and belongs to what timetable. See my book "The Interpretation of Dreams and Visions" for a full explanation.

measures symbolic, such as facial expressions often indicate the mood of the dream and shows whether the symbols should be interpreted positively or negatively. It is necessary to emphasize that this should not be worked in the carnal mind, but to discern the Holy Spirit.

The numbers are sometimes included in the content of a dream or vision. The numbers are a higher form of symbolism and its meaning is understood on rare occasions. A symbol should be construed as used in Scripture. By learning the numbers of different shapes and other objects used in the Bible, we can accurately interpret what they mean in our dreams and visions.

Occasionally forms as circles, squares or triangles appear in dreams and visions. Some people reluctantly talk about them, fearing that its origin is of the devil. If all circles, squares and triangles were bad, mean that all creation in heaven and on earth with all its beauty is built by the evil, which is not true.

The occult is certain circles and triangles associated with witchcraft, but we must ask God for discernment between life and death, truth and lies. Circles, squares and triangles are discussed in detail in my book "The Interpretation of Dreams and Visions."

Third, record the dream or vision as accurately and completely as possible. Record the dream as soon as you wake up otherwise you may forget some details, and often forget the whole dream. Record all details such as colors, numbers, address objects, field of vision and mood, and whether it was a positive or negative experience. Do not add (Never assume) or take away from the dream, as it will influence the interpretation. Have a pen and paper beside your bed to record dreams as soon as you wake up. Also take a pen and paper with you when you pray to record views immediately after seeing them. Sometimes you can dream or see visions and sometimes do not have dreams and visions. Then the Lord answered me and said, "Write the vision and make it clear on tablets so that he may run who reads" (Habakkuk 2:2).

I have a dream journal and personal vision in my computer where I record my dreams and visions, I am not good at writing my first dream strict time sequential order of events. My hand-written copy is always a mess.

Fourth, analyze the dream or vision. Make a study or background investigation of all the symbolic objects and symbols in dreams or visions. Create a complete record of each symbolic object and then update the symbol the symbolic dictionary. State the definition or provide a reasonable description of the object or symbol and its most important features, habits and / or use. If the object or symbol is traceable to the Scriptures, Hebrew record and / or Greek meanings and refer to the relevant verses. An object or symbol has many meanings (positive or negative) because it has characteristics, habits and / or use. Thus, the interpretation of a specific symbol vision can vary from another in terms of features that the Holy Spirit wants to emphasize. A lion in a particular view can reveal the Lion of the tribe Judah. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and lose their seven seals (Revelation 5:5). At another point in environmental conditions, a vision of a lion may refer to demonic vigilante attacks. Be sober; because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (Jeremiah 8:07 a). The property, which the Holy Spirit wants to highlight is discerned by the Holy Spirit and did not work in the carnal mind. Practice the gift of interpreting dreams and visions of resistance needs. The more know the Bible, the Holy Spirit Scripture more can be used to bring to mind.

To update my dictionary symbolic, I use the Bible, books of animal and plant kingdoms, Bible dictionaries, from the Bible, Hebrew and Greek lexicons and dictionaries. Internet use also in my research. Usually I prefer to exclude the secular material as far as possible. Occasionally secular material proves to be useful. Make use of the programs of the Bible (eg, E-sword) which can be downloaded from the Internet for free, Internet and local library as the books are expensive. Over time, if you faithfully do what I tell you, you develop a good understanding of the direction of the Holy Spirit in dreams and visions, and the meaning of most of the objects and symbols. Practice makes perfect.

The Lord occasionally uses objects and symbols that refer to a person's occupation and interests. A merchant may receive dreams and visions products, services and customers, while a professional hunter, from time to time may receive dreams and visions of wild animals, guns, ammunition and customers.

Fifth, we need to discern if your dream is a spiritual being or a natural sleep. You need to know if the Spirit Holy inspired dream or if it was a figment of your mind.

We also need to know if the dream is symbolic (parable) or literal. Normally, if something in a dream is not literal, then the whole dream with all the objects and symbols should be interpreted. However, there are rare occasions where this rule does not apply. See chapter on dreams about a woman who had a dream where he saw people in a large pool.

You also need to know to whom the dream is concerned and what it means to sleep. Therefore, recording the history of all the dreams or visions. The background activity is a person made or meditation in the heart of a person or issue in the fight with a person before he or she went to bed. Registry of prayer, meditation or experience was intense and it was about. You need to know what the dream relates to. Is this the Scripture? Nebuchadnezzar, king mused on what would happen after his reign and God answered him by thee, O king as thoughts came to mind while in bed, what will happen after this, and reveals secrets has made known what will (Daniel 2:29).

Fervent prayer and meditation on the Word of God every day, is a healthy habit. It is not enough to believe in God for dreams. Passivity does not result in dreams and visions. When you are involved in prayer, worship, waiting in the Lord and living in the Word to minister to God and others. Then the Lord will speak through dreams and visions to reveal His will to you. Will God is for your own good, to pursue his Son in you.

Sixth, the dream or vision of the need for interpretation. Ask the Lord for the interpretation of the dream or vision. Start at the beginning of the dream and the interpretation of objects and symbols, one by one and therefore the dream. Dreams can relate to you personally, your family, your church, business, or be applicable to third parties, nations, countries and continents. This chapter is only an introduction to help. You approach the interpretation of dreams and visions in the same sincere way that when you meditate in word and it's the same steps. It takes time, patience and perseverance to practice his gift.

I started seeing visions after my conversion in 1973. It took eighteen months before it began to flow in the interpretation of dreams and visions. At first I saw the dreams and visions, but could not interpret. One day I told the Lord, "What's the use you are giving me dreams and visions, but I can not interpret. What a waste." Immediately I received the gift of interpretation because I knew immediately the meaning of some visions I've had before eighteen months. When you ask God for the gift to interpret dreams and visions to practice it as often as may otherwise not be developed.

No one can have a relationship tender with the Holy Spirit on behalf of another person. You are responsible for your own walk with God. Visit a prophetic group and learn from them. You should prepare yourself that you will make many mistakes at first. You may eventually mature in this gift of interpretation which is pretty accurate. However, I doubt if there will be a time in this dispensation where is foolproof. We know only in part and prophesy in part. We know in part and prophesy in part (1 Corinthians 13:9). This fact should keep it humble.

Finally, take responsibility for what the Holy Spirit has revealed. Meditate on your visions and pray through to its development and maturity. While calling for wisdom and understanding in what He has revealed he will prosper in all areas of his life. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God, and while he sought the Lord, God prospered (2 Chronicles 26:5).
